A fascinating collection of traditional fishing tackle comprising several old wooden line winders in different forms, together with a small group of vintage fishing floats.
Before the widespread use of modern plastic tackle boxes and ready-made rigs, anglers wound prepared fishing lines around wooden frames such as these, keeping floats, hooks and line organised and ready for use.
The collection includes both dark-stained and natural wood winders, some retaining old line and weights, alongside a selection of traditional painted floats.
