A wonderfully ingenious pre-war wooden ramp-walker depicting a little boy riding a scooter.
Placed at the top of a gentle incline, gravity brings the articulated figure to life as he makes his way down the slope. Probably Central European and dating from around the 1920s–30s, it is a charming survivor from the inventive world of early mechanical wooden toys.
Its original wear and character have been preserved at Gladstone Studios. Vintage collectible; not sold as a toy meeting current child-safety standards.
