A wonderful surviving group of eight miniature hand-carved and hand-painted wooden farm animals from the German Erzgebirge tradition.
Believed to date from around the turn of the 20th century, each animal has its own expression, paint wear and evidence of a long life. Their age and original surface are an important part of their charm, so they have been preserved rather than repainted at Gladstone Studios.
